NETWORKING
Networking is the practice of linking two or more computing device
together for the purpose of sharing data. In it simple form, a network consists
of two or more computers connected to each other by an appropriate transmission
medium which allows them to share data.
TYPES OF NETWORK
1.
LAN (Local area network) is
a computer network that interconnects computers within a limited area such as
home, church, hospital, computer laboratory and many others using a network media.
2.
WAN (Wide area network) is
a network that covers a broad area. Any telecommunication network that links
across metropolitan, regional national and many more.
3.
WLAN
is a wireless computer network that links two or more device using a wireless
distribution method within a limited area such as home, school, and many more.
4.
CAN (Campus area network)
is the use of computer software to control machine tools and related machinery
in the manufacturing of work pieces.
5.
INTRANET
is a computer network that uses internet protocol technology to share
information, operational system, or computing service within an organization.
6.
INTERNET
is a global system of interconnected computer network that use the standard
internet protocol suite to link several billions devices worldwide.
INTRANET AND EXTRANET
A network designed for
information processing within a company or organization is an INTRANET. An
intranet uses the same technologies as the internet but is owned and manages by
a company or organization.
And a network that provides
distributed authentication access to resources is EXTRANET. Generally, this
refers to allowing secure access to a private network from outside the network
or connecting several private network securities.
